Rihanna’s highly anticipated eighth studio album has only been out for a couple of days but in that short amount of time, ANTi has already been certified platinum by the RIAA because of the way Tidal and Samsung executed the release. Samsung purchased one million copies in advance, giving those away as free downloads. The situation is similar to Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail 2013 album release.

ANTi is now available on iTunes and has been streamed over 14 million times on Tidal but it’s unclear how many physical copies of the project Rihanna will sell in the first week.

It’s probably safe to assume she’ll debut at number one.

Have you listened to ANTi yet? What do you think?

Well, if you wanna call that platinum. *KanyeShrug*

Let’s see how many units she’s able to move after this marketing ploy. I haven’t listened to it but I’ll give it a shot and see how it sounds.

Busy listening to Meek Mill’s IV part 2.
