A 5-year-old Kenner, LA girl is being called a hero thanks to leading her blind grandmother out of their burning house.
Cloe Woods learned about fire safety during a kindergarten class trip to the Kenner Fire Department.
“They talked to the kids saying if there was a fire you need to get out of the house,” said her teacher Brittany Gaillot.
On Wednesday, while sitting at home with her grandmother the stove caught on fire.
“She told my mom to hold her shoulder and that they had to get out of the house,” said Shone Arceneaux.
“She was running and telling the neighbors to call 911, and I said, ‘What’s going on?’ she said, ‘The house is on fire,’ so I jump out of the car and said, ‘What?'” said Arceneaux.
The Kenner Fire Department commended Cloe for a job well done.
