It’s no secret, Black people are FLY.
We create, we set trends, and we often inform the wider public about what’s cool. From jazz to hip hop to rise of Black Twitter, we’ve been doing the damn thing since for-ev-er.
But while Black has always been beautiful, our hair, style, and skin have rarely been recognized as such by the mainstream. Still, we’ve continued to innovate and push the aesthetic limits, causing other folks to scramble to catch up.
Recently, WatchCut rolled out a video chronicling 100 years of Black American beauty and style, and it’s everything.
The clip features models Lester and Marshay, two ridiculously gorgeous people, showcasing hairstyles from the past 10 decades.
Take a look.
