The head of the Baltimore City Public School Police Force is now on administrative leave after a video was posted online showing him punching and hitting a high school student in the hallway.
Marshall Goodwin is on leave, and two other officers involved in the incident have been reassigned according to CBS Baltimore.
The incident occurred at Reach! Partnership High School and was recorded by a student.
“If it was my son, I would be highly upset, asking questions, wanting to know what happened prior to it,” one Baltimore resident, Gary Payne, told the news station. “But still, nobody deserves to get their hands put on them like that.”
Karl Perry, chief officer of school supports, told the news station that he’s appalled. “I’m a parent, and I’m totally appalled at what I saw in that video. No matter what the circumstances are, I am totally appalled.”
