When Beyoncé named her album Lemonade, she probably didn’t intend on promoting the beverage. After all, she recently invested an undisclosed amount into startup cold pressed watermelon juice company WTRMLN WATR but nevertheless, sales for lemon based drinks have risen thanks to Bey.
Natalie Sexton, CEO of Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company told the Huffington Post that sales of her company’s natural lemonade, lemonade tea and strawberry lemonade have doubled since the album dropped. “People are drinking lemonade and posting pictures with the hashtag #Beyonce,” she said. You can’t drink lemonade these days without thinking of her.
Matt McLean, CEO of Uncle Matt’s reported that his company’s seen a 20 percent increase in sales since Lemonade’s release.
As usual, without much effort – anything Bey touches turns to gold. Red Lobster dinners and citrus drinks included. And of course the onset of Spring could also be credited for people buying more lemonade but we’ll go ahead and say it’s a combination of the two.
