Teen Vogue tapped Team USA gymnast superstars Gabby Douglas, 20, and Simone Biles, 19, to front its special August issue with two separate covers. The power pair pose in Nike gear alongside the cover line “Body Beautiful,” a more-than-fitting description of their phenomenal physiques.
Douglas — who won the individual all-around gold medal in 2012 at just 16 years of age— leaps across the page in a pose that displays pure athletic strength and beauty.
“I literally never thought I would ever have so many people behind me. It’s so special. I feel like I’m one of theirs, you know?” Gabby, 20, shares. “Sometimes I’m like, why are all those people taking pictures of that wall? And then I realize I am standing in front of it, she told the mag.
Biles — who will be making her Olympic debut in just 36 days when the games kick off in Ro — sits tall and upright on the opposite cover.
“If I thought of gymnastics as a job, it would put too much stress on me,” she explains. “At the end of the day, if I can say I had fun, it was a good day.”
Douglas and Biles make up two-fifths of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team for women’s gymnastics. Aly Raisman, 22, Ashton Locklear, 18 and Laurie Hernandez, 16 round out the squad.
