Wendy Williams is probably eating her words right about now when it comes to her recent comments about the NAACP and HBCUs. And the people behind her show, are probably pissed because they cost them a huge sponsor.
Williams ranted against the NAACP and HBCUs during her Hot Topics segment last week.
“On the other hand, I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically black colleges. What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There’s the NAACP,” Williams stated.
And now Chevy, allegedly, pulled their sponsorship from the show.
According to Love B. Scott, the show struck an all-inclusive deal with Chevrolet, Carat Media and ACE Media Corp to include on-air promotion of the 2016 Chevy Malibu. This covered everything from custom digital content, social media marketing, and was set to carry through all of 2016.
Scott site the reason for the sponsorship pull because the President and CEO of ACE Media Corp, the company that was responsible for facilitating the Chevy partnership, is Andrea Holmes Thompkins who graduated from Howard University.
And this is a prime example of when talking reckless costs your dollars.
