Dr. Sebi, who treated both TLC’s Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez and Michael Jackson, died this weekend, and the details surrounding his untimely death are raising some questions. The famed herbal healer, pathologist, holistic medicine practitioner was allegedly arrested in Honduras for carrying $30,000 in cash on his person. According to recent reports, he died in custody police after he became sick with pneumonia.
Dr. Sebi is a pathologist, herbalist, biochemist, and naturalist. He has studied and personally observed herbs in North America, Central and South America, Africa, and the Caribbean, and has developed a unique approach and methodology to healing the human body with herbs that is firmly rooted in over 30 years of experience.
The events leading up to his death are still developing, however, a recently released video from Usha Village in Honduras (where Sebi frequently spent time) sheds some light on the events leading to his death. The description reads: “He became sick with pneumonia while being held in prison. His condition escalated quickly and he was transferred to a nearby hospital. We are unsure about what type of treatment he received over the course of the last few days, both before and after being submitted to the hospital.”
“He was one of the few master healers and herbalist in our generation, and in the world, that centered African people,” the woman in the video said, “So while we are very sad that Dr. Sebi passed, we need to also focus on how to continue the work.”
Dr. Sebi claimed to have the cure for AIDS and HIV. He also preached that inducing an “alkaline state” the body makes it less susceptible to illness.
Many have taken to Twitter to share condolences with the #DrSebi hashtag.
