You may not recognize their faces YET, but I’m sure you’ve rocked out to a few of their hot tunes. Writers behind a vast number of hits for artists like Eve, Akon and Usher to name a few, brothers Theron and Timothy Thomas are already a hit as artists. Originally from St. Thomas V.I., the Atlanta based duo infuse island rhythms with hip-hop to create the infectious sound for their group Rock City. Take a listen, the music speaks for itself!

The highly anticipated Topshop U.S. e-commerce site launches today…Although the Soho NYC store opening has been pushed back til late November, fashionistas can now shop the highly sought after digs via the new site. While a flat rate shipping fee of $15 may be a bit pricey, I’m sure the free w/ purchase charity t-shirt designed by Kate Moss, will be a great consolation! 21 Mercer Street Nike Block Party

Aint no party like a Nike party that’s for sure! On August 21st, Nike shutdown an entire block to host a Block Party for the grand opening of their Nike Sportswear Shop at 21 Mercer in New York City. The location was transformed into a stadium complete with astro turf and bleachers. Guests munched on corn dogs, cotton candy and ice cream while viewing the countdown to the the grand opening on gigantic LCD screens. Famed Dj Mark Ronson kept the party live on the 1′s and 2′s. The event was invite only with a guest list of names like Spike Lee, Serina Williams, Just Blaze, Solange Knowles, Dee & Ricky and Vashtie Kola to name a few. If your in the area swing by the new store and customize your own kicks starting at a measly $800, can you dig it?

How to Be a Fashionable Budget Conscious Shopper!

As a self-proclaimed budget-nista(yes…I made it up), I revel at the challenge of re-creating all of the runway trends of the season on a more cost efficient budget. I’ve learned over the years that quality is essential in a wardrobe, but going broke is not mandatory to achieve this. So you ask where does one start on their journey? Vintage and Re-sale stores are an excellent place to begin. There are countless bargains and fashionable one of a kind items waiting to be found. Let me give you a small example of the treasures you can find while thrifting. I scored a brand new w/tags ribbed Chanel Tank Top for $2, the retail price tag read $500! And that’s just one of the many deals I find on a regular basis. To give you a jump start on your new found mission I’ve compiled a few of my favorite online vintage shops for your viewing pleasure. Oh and one last reason why vintage shopping is a plus, its another great method of recycling and assisting in the conservation of the beautiful world we live in!

Kanye West Pastelle featured in Vman Mag

Kanye West’s highly anticipated clothing line Pastelle has finally surfaced online or at least a preview. VMAN magazine did a photoshoot with West and a few of his fellow tour mates, Lupe Fiasco and Rihanna in Chicago. Rihanna can be seen modeling the same hoodie West wore to the Dior show back in July. Styled by British designer and stylist icon Kim Jones, there is no denying the “College Dropout” is on point with his aesthetic. A mixture of casual and dapper looks, Pastelle is rumored to hit stores in November.

The Brooklyn Circus Experience is Everything

The wait is over ladies! I have been stalking The Brooklyn Circus blog, feverishly awaiting the drop of their women’s line…Ouigi and his crew have come through for the ladies with just as much fire/fiyah as the men’s line…Bright pink, yellow and blue colors adorn one of the T’s with their infamous mantra “The Brooklyn Circus Experience is Everything”. And you have to appreciate the fact that they chose two models of different figures to display the diverse fit of their T’s. Looks like the Brooklyn Circus is continuing their successful reign in fashion with the expansion of their line and retail locations set to open this weekend in Brooklyn!

Fashion Brief: Current/Elliott

With a client list from MTV to W magazine, its no surprise that styling duo Emily Current and Meritt Elliott are slated to debut their self-titled denim label . Using plush Japanese denim manufactured in America — Los Angeles to be exact-creating a worn in vintage look but most importantly perfecting the fit you’ve always wanted. Each individual piece is a sort of history lesson in denim with style names like “THE LAUREL CANYON”,”THE HARLEY VEST” and “THE FONTAINE SHORT”;ranging from the 1950-’s to 80′s. Meritt and Elliott were able to capture the essence and authenticity of each era. Their ability to transcend time is a defining element of mainstay within the industry. The feel and fit offer a classic look in a new era of vintage. It just goes to show that real fashion never goes out of style unlike trends, it recreates, resurfaces or reappears for a second look!
