Mary Annaïse Heglar is a graduate of Oberlin College. She is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and rural Mississippi who currently lives in the Bronx. This summer, she and two other women writers of the African Diaspora will launch, Indigo+Cypress, a blog that explores their diverging and converging experiences as women of color and more.
