Oprah is getting things over at her new OWN cable network off to a positive start. The media queen revealed her new colorful brand logo for the Oprah Winfrey Network. It’s a bright palate serving up O power in big bold letters. But her electric logo isn’t the only thing popping; Oprah told insiders at an exclusive conference that there will be no “bitch” word at her network.

According to the New York Post, Oprah appeared at Maria Shriver’s Women’s Conference in California, telling attendees that OWN will be “fun and entertaining without tearing people down and calling them bitches.” Oprah said, “Imagine that. Imagine.”

The new channel owner continued, “Growing up, I could never find my name on any of those license plates or lunchboxes, now I know what it was for—to start my own network.” Oprah says the network will carry out her message. “A whole network, a whole channel that we’re designing to carry the Oprah Winfrey message.”

Oprah continued, telling the crowd that she is not afraid. “I know that as I start on this next chapter, there’s going to be some mistakes. I know there’s going to be some stumbles. I know I’m a work in process and progress. I know nothing new is perfect, but I’m not scared. I’m not afraid.”

The OWN network is scheduled to launch on January 1. And we’re bursting with excitement. No matter what some of us may think of Oprah, she is one fearless woman!

I am so excited about the network. I have looked up to Oprah since I was a teen and was saddened when she announced the ending of her show. Silly me for thinking she would have the show on air forever. But knowing that she was starting her OWN network just made it a little better. Oprah Rocks!

Hopefully she’ll focus on the empowerment message and not the consumerist lifestyle she tags on to that message.

Oprah’s a disgrace – a fake – she holds the hands of people who are crying, and yet continues to ask them upsetting questions. She doesn’t really care. She knows all of the right words to say to appear a loving person. But, deep down, all she really cares about is building an empire.

Witness her treatment of MJ. She gained his trust, then asked him preposterously private questions on TV, such as: “Are you still a virgin?” (See the interview on YouTube.) She takes every opportunity, even now after his death, to denounce him and imply he is guilty of the allegations, on which he was CLEARED after the prosecution tried everything in the book to find him guilty.

By contrast, the dormitory matron of her girls’ school in Africa was accused of sexual molestation, and the courts acquitted this woman, and how many times did Oprah speak of this situation on her show? I guess it’s just bad PR, isn’t it, Oprah?

And witness her ABOMINABLE treatment of grieving mother Katherine Jackson in the interview just a couple of weeks ago.

I am one who is NOT rejoicing in the creation of this new, self-aggrandizing network. If you want your organization to continue to thrive after your demise, you don’t name it after yourself. She is naming her entire network after herself. What does this say to you, people? This is all about HER and building HER OWN EMPIRE. Money, success, and fame: this is what this is all about. This is the common, unspoken theme underneath her every venture.

People see Oprah as a spiritual guide. How spiritual is it to name a new network after oneself? Come on, people: what does this say? Would Mother Teresa or the Dalai Lama do such things? What is true spirituality? She is a charlatan hungry for all the attention. I would allow her to guide me about as much as I would allow Jack Kevorkian to guide me.
