Thanksgiving is almost here, and you know what that means, FOOD!

Whether it’s sweet potato pie or pumpkin pie, roasted turkey or fried, Brussels sprouts or green beans, Thanksgiving is all about enjoying the day with those you love and digging into a plate of home cooked yumminess.

While I’m not advocating that you pig out on Thursday, part of the fun of the holiday season is sampling the culinary delights of friends and family. Personally, I get a kick out of cooking dishes I’d normally find too time-consuming or too extravagant for a typical weeknight’s meal. So for the next few days I’ll be planning, shopping, and cooking up some of the tastiest dishes my family has ever tasted.

If you’re still on the fence about what to make for Turkey Day, there are tons of websites that will help you figure it all out. Whether you are cooking the bulk of the dinner, or just plan on showing up with a salad or bottle of wine, the web has got you covered.

Skinny Taste: For those like me who like all the flavor and decadence of traditional dishes without all of the fat, Skinny Taste is here to help. The site has tons of healthier versions of some of your favorite recipes. I’ll be making the lightened up version of sweet potato pie.

Smitten Kitchen: Ok, so Smitten Kitchen isn’t for those looking to cook low-fat meals for the holidays. They are firm believers in the power of butter. But the featured recipes are so amazingly delicious you might have to overlook your diet for one day (and one day only!).

AllRecipes: AllRecipies is my go to site whenever I’m looking to try something new. You can search for recipes for almost anything, read user reviews, get cooking tips, and even plug in the ingredients you have on hand to see what you can cook up tonight without having to hit a store.

Sloshed & 1Wine Dude: Cooking ain’t your thing? You can still contribute to the festivities. Two blogs, Sloshed and 1WineDude have you covered on all things liquid. Sloshed will have you channeling your inner bartender and creating tasty cocktails, while 1WineDude will help you select the perfect bottle of vino that your friends and family will love.
