Apparently, being a Grammy winner, a new mommy, and a dedicated philanthropist isn’t enough for Alicia Keys. Even though she is readying her next album, the singer is adding another title to her already crowded resume—film director.
According to the film blog Shadow & Act, Keys will join forces with Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and Patty Jenkins to direct Five, an anthology of five short films exploring the impact of breast cancer on people’s lives.
Five will be produced by Sony Pictures and air on Lifetime TV sometime next year. A press release for the film explained Five will use “humor and drama to focus on the effect that breast cancer and its diagnosis have on relationships and the way women perceive themselves, while searching for strength, comfort, medical breakthroughs and, ultimately, a cure.”
Although Keys is no stranger to the big screen—appearing in the films Smoking Aces, The Nanny Diaries, and The Secrete Life of Bees—this will be her first time behind the camera.
