Last Friday, a 8.9-magnitude earthquake devastated northeast Japan along with a 10-meter tsunami which hit the country’s coastline.
More than 3,700 lives have been lost in the natural disasters and nearly 6,000 individuals are still missing. Cities have been flattened, more than 80 fires have been sparked by the earthquake, and the country’s nuclear investments have raised fear amongst government officials and residents of a nuclear disaster.
The Japanese government has just ordered that residents that live 18 miles within the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant remain indoors, close their windows, and not use air-conditioning, due to an explosion that damaged one of the reactors at the plant.
Footage below depicts several reports on the disaster that has taken place.
