You can officially add Nick and Mariah to Hollywood’s list of celeb parents. After several false starts, Mariah Carey finally gave birth to a healthy little girl and a little boy.
According to a report from The Associated Press:
The singing superstar gave birth Saturday at 12:07 p.m. EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. Berger says the baby girl was born first, weighing 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 18 inches long; her brother was next, at 5 pounds 6 ounces, and was 19 inches.
Mariah was chauffeured to the hospital by her husband in the couple’s Rolls-Royce Phantom. Her publicist, Cindi Berger, says that while Mariah, 41, was calm and convinced her contractions were another false alarm, Nick, 30, was so nervous he went to the wrong department and had to be guided to the maternity ward by a nurse.
No word yet on the twins’ names but sources say after their birth, Mariah’s “We Belong Together” could be hear playing from her hospital suite. Nick and Mariah have luxurious nurseries in their New York and Los Angeles pads.
The couple has long awaited becoming parents. After marrying in 2007, the couple was the subject of countless pregnant rumors. After revealing she was carrying last fall, Mariah confirmed that she had indeed been pregnant before but had a miscarriage.
Sunday, a day after bringing their twins into the world, the couple renewed their vows in a ceremony conducted by the Reverend Al Sharpton.
Congratulations to the couple on this milestone- it’s an amazing moment for them for sure.
