Oprah Winfrey’s farewell show will air in a few hours and even though we are completely saddened by this moment, we are appreciative of what Oprah gave us as women. Her uplifting advice, her emotional nakedness, her unmatched generosity, her relentless passion were always complimented by the beauty she radiated inside and out.

Always a lady of style, Oprah’s recent years on TV included just about every kind of Louboutin shoe designed and of course, her coveted thick, black and shiny hair. And as she told Chris Rock, it’s all hers. We couldn’t help but to post a story on how amazing the Queen of All Media’s hair was through the years on television.

Oprah’s hair always looked healthy whether long or short, straightened or curly. Her stylist of over two decades, Andre Walker, has been the only stylist she trusted with her hair since the inception of the iconic Oprah Winfrey Show. We know what its like to trust only certain hands with your hair and Oprah is no different. Priding herself on not wearing a weave, Oprah’s coif defined the definition of “good hair” in its truest sense.

Oprah is a poignant example to us as women and people of color of what we can accomplish with tenacity, drive, humility and compassion for others. Saying goodbye is bittersweet (though we’ll be tuning into OWN!). However, it also is a time to celebrate the contributions she has made to entertainment and the inspiration she is for black women all over the world who are passionate about their hair.

Here is a gallery of our favorite hairstyles from the one and only Ms. Oprah Winfrey:
