Kanye West is taking his imprint international, signing two of the hottest Nigerian artists to G.O.O.D. Music.
Word is that the Louis Vuitton don has added artists Don Jazzy and D’banj to his label’s roster. Though there has been no official word from G.O.O.D Music’s office, both Nigerian musicians have confirmed through their Twitter accounts that they have been offered contracts from Ye’s label.
According to The Boombox:
Although G.O.O.D. Music reps have yet to confirm the signing, rumors have been circulating since February, when Kanye tweeted at the two artists. “Yo @iamdbanj and @donjazzymohits get back to NY asap there is still work to be done,” he wrote.
The move to G.O.O.D Music was added good news for D’banj, who celebrated his 31st birthday on June 9th, the day word of the deal first broke.
D’Banj and Don Jazzy may be new names in the states but the pair are well known throughout Africa and Europe. D’Banj has made waves with his debut album, ‘No Long Thing’ in 2005. The award-winning singer-songwriter first gave the music world his first offering through Don Jazzy’s Mo’ Hits Records. Don Jazy is a triple threat himself, wearing the multiple hats of a producer, singer and songwriter.
The pair will now join the already impressive G.O.O.D Music roster which includes acts such as The Chi-town MC, whose roster currently includes Pusha T, CyHi Da Prynce and Kid Cudi.
