Astrid Muñoz is one of the world’s most famous models and is a constant reminder that beauty only gets better with age. She is a front-row mainstay and a muse to high-fashion designers the world over, taking each stride with grace and poise.
Astrid was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and had a very strict upbringing. Her father was a nuclear engineer and her mother an executive secretary, thus education was of the utmost importance in her household. Astrid’s love of fashion began while she was reading fashion magazines and she was offered an opportunity to model in Spain, but she declined at the request of her mother.
Her next big opportunity to break into the fashion industry came five years later while Astrid was visiting a friend in Miami. A model agent there encouraged her to try a fashion career in France and she took that advice, traveling overseas without the permission or knowledge of her parents. That leap of faith led her to become one of the first Latina models to gain notoriety in Paris. Astrid went on to cover the world’s most popular high-fashion magazines including Vogue, L’Officiel, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and many more.
Astrid has appeared in fashion campaigns for the likes of Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana, Mango, Saks Fifth Avenue and countless others, showing just how much clout she has in the industry. Her runway résumé includes shows for Christian Dior, Dries Van Noten, Jill Stuart, Missoni and a slew of others. She has been named one of the most beautiful women in the world and that is fairly obvious, with her dark brown hair, flawless skin, and svelte physique. She always goes for refined and elegant, often with a bold red lip showcasing her fiery personality and Latina flavor.
