“Trust yourself. Think for yourself. Act for yourself. Speak for yourself. Be yourself. Imitation is suicide.” – Marva Collins

In a world full of imitation and conformity, one of the most liberating things you can do is just be yourself. When we are comfortable and confident in who we are, life just seems so much sweeter. As you go off into another week, remember: Do you, Clutchettes. After all, no one does it better.

Happy Monday!

Thanks for that. I am on a long journey to being comfortable with being myself. I have coma a long way, and when I look back at my childhood, teen years, and early 20’s, I am much at ease with knowing that the person I am is more than good enough, and that my individuality is something to be celebrated and not suppressed. I have my ‘off’ days, but those are few.

    Imitation is suicide. Ralph Waldo Emerson’s “Self-Reliance” agrees… :-)

There comes a time in every man’s education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance, that imitation is suicide, that he must take himself for better [or for worse] as his portion . . . The power which lies in him is new in nature and none but he knows what that is which he must do, nor does he know until he has tried . . .Trust thyself. Every heart vibrates to that iron string.
