Ladies, we all have those beauty moments that when we look back on, thoughts like, “What the heck was I thinking?” come to mind. Let’s face it, back in the day, we were not fly all of the time. Trends and phases came and went, and some of those instances were dreadful, terrible mistakes. Let’s take a look down yester years at all of our beauty blunders. I’m sure if you take the time to reflect, you will discover that you fell victim to many beauty no-nos.

Harsh Lip-liner: When wearing lipstick, lip liner is a staple ingredient in pulling the overall look together. However, dark and harsh lip-liners that don’t blend in with your lipstick are a huge beauty faux paus. When I first started experimenting with lipstick and liners, I made the mistake of thinking black liner blended with anything. Thank God my mother took me aside and gave me a Beauty 101 lesson. If not, I would have gone around looking a hot mess!

Penciled in Eyebrows: Yikes! Every time I think back on this moment in my life, I cringe. When I was younger, I made the huge mistake of shaving the ends of my eyebrows, in hopes to achieve high arched brows. I used an eyeliner pencil to enhance my barely there brows. Lets just say, I endured weeks of uneven and thick eyebrows. Oh, and rain and mist became the enemy.

Long Acrylic Nails: My mother never let me get acrylic tips. On my 15th birthday, I snuck out with some friends to get my first set. Of course, I went bold. I left the salon with long tips and designs on each nail. HAM. I couldn’t button my jeans, type on a computer or do much of anything that involved my fingers for about two weeks. Not to mention, I completely destroyed my natural nails trying to pop those things off.

Colored Contacts: I wore grey color contacts for about a year in high school. I don’t know who I was trying to fool with my cheap looking color contacts. At the time, I thought I looked fierce and exotic, but when I look back on photos, I look foolish! Thank God I have learned to embrace my beautiful dark brown natural eye color.

So there you have it, my beauty blunders and regrets. We all have them right?

This backlash against colored contacts is crazy. If you get the right pair and match with the right shade…it looks very nice.

I’ve never tried any of these unfortunate trends…I was too young when they were “ïn” so I can just sit back and laugh at others.hehe

OHH! I hope these never occurred at the same time.
I came close to the eyebrow liner incident. I didn’t shave them but I did use a black liner and a heavy hand and I never knew what I was doing with cheap eyeshadows. But I rearily wore or experimented with make-up.
I appreciate you telling us your story.

Yuck! I smell the stench of judgement.
If this post was about mis-matched foundation, lace front fronts that are hella obvious or weaves with horrible closures at the top, then I’d understand.

Drawing on eyebrows and lining lips I find, are cultural differences. I see it a lot. It’s not my style, but to crap on someones personal style is soooo not cool. Especially for a site that is for embracing style.

I don’t think she was doing that. She was just noting her beauty fails. Why do people read so hard into these posts?

annndddddd what if mis matched foundation is cultural too(japanese people do this cause they like a pale face) people might personally like weaves and lacefronts like that so whats your point??
