2011 was an interesting year. From the Japanese quake, Dr. Conrad Murray trial, and Herman Cain, it was packed with news. Also this year also more jabs were thrown at Black women than at a Floyd Mayweather fight, but we brushed our shoulders off and kept it moving…in style.

From Michelle Obama being, well, Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey launching her network, to Rihanna ruling the charts, Leymah Gbowee’s Nobel Prize win, and natural hair finally being en vogue, Black women have been having quite a good year.

On a more personal note, 2011 has been the year of change. I changed jobs and began to expand my mindset to realize that I’m in control of my own dreams.

As we begin to look forward to 2012, it’s always good to reflect on what worked and what didn’t work for us in 2011. So, while I gear up to create my vision board for 2012, I’m giving thanks for all of the blessings that flowed my way this year.

But how about you? What did you LOVE about 2011?
