In his annual Saviors’ Day speech, Minister Louis Farrakhan spoke of America’s declining days and warned that the country’s current political and racial climate could lead to an assassination attempt against President Obama.
Although Minister Farrakhan has been very critical of the President in the past and accused him of being an “assassin” and “murderer” after the death of Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi, Farrakhan said that the President’s rivals have continuously tried to deride his leadership and question his legitimacy since taking office three years ago.
“Never has a sitting president been spoken of in the manner that President Obama and his family have had to endure,” Farrakhan said. “Not just by the birthers and right-wing zealots but those in high places – people with great influence have spoken against him in a manner that has never been according to even the worst of America’s white presidents.”
According to the Associated Press, Farrakhan also told the crowd, “They have called President Barack Obama a racist, an anti-Semite, a socialist, a communist, a foreigner, an alien and some have even called him a terrorist.Obama has really got them upset. Republicans are looking for some white person. Anybody. Anybody.”
In a particularly stirring part of the speech, Minister Farrakhan went on to ask the thousands on hand, “Do you think they’re wicked enough to be plotting our brother’s assassination as we speak?”
Farrakhan’s speech wasn’t all in favor of the President. During his three hour sermon titled “What will 2012 bring to America, the World, Black and Oppressed People,” Minister Farrakhan also claimed America was out to silence him and the Arab Spring began as a ploy organized by the U.S. to gain access to the resources of the Middle East. He also called on his followers to be “conscientious objectors” against a possible war with Iran, and reiterated his theory that the government orchestrated the 9/11 attacks.
What do you think? Because of our current political climate, could President Obama be in danger?
