After President Obama announced his plans to ask Congress to crack down on oil speculators who drive up the price of crude oil and leave us paying more at the pump, Congresswoman and former Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann accused him of “waving a tar baby in the air.”

In an interview with Conservative blog, The Shark Tank, Rep. Bachmann said the President was trying to confuse voters about who was at fault for the high price of oil.

“This is just about waving a tar baby in the air and saying that something else is a problem,” she said. “I have never seen a more irresponsible president who is infantile in the way that he continually blames everyone else for his failure to first diagnose the problem and second to address the problem.”

Although the original meaning of ‘Tar Baby’ refers to a doll, its most common use is as a racial slur against black folks.

The isn’t the first crazy think Michelle Bachmann has said. Her presidential campaign took a nosedive after she suggested a link between childhood vaccines and mental retardation.

The GOP is a disgrace. They have let these lunatics hijack their party. All I ever hear about is extremists. Where are the moderate Republicans condemning their stupidity. They let it fly. You know Mitt Romney is too moderate to say this stuff, so the bigots like Bachman, Nugent, Santorum, and Gingrich have to run their flappers to appeal to the extremists in the GOP that find Romney to moderate. If they can keep these people riled up, that’s all they care about. She couldn’t have possibly believed that would be okay.

People simply know that racism, sexism, and offensive language gets attention. Then they have the nerve to wonder why kids are so mean and bully each other. They learn it from Congressmen, news anchors, and their parents. When grownups find racism and calling women sluts funny, they shouldn’t be surprised when their kids turn out to be bullies. Social media has made it cool to be offensive. Idiots with keyboards is one thing. Politicians who do know better is another.

The GOP knows that black people will never vote Republican so they don’t care about offending black people. They don’t care about liberals who oppose racism and sexism. They are speaking to their base. When Gingrich equated poor people with black people, he was speaking to the prejudices of the base. When Rick Santorum made that comment about “blah” people, he was speaking to his base. When he called Obama a government-nig, he was speaking to his base. They say that they want to “help black people.” No. They say that so that when you call them out on their behavior, they can say they were only trying to help. They speak to the base, and then Mitt Romney says moderately that he finds that he doesn’t like divisive language. Now they have made the extremists that Romney can’t click with happy, and the moderates are happy that Romney is not a bigot and has disagreed with the offensive language.

The GOP only talks about black people or immigrants or liberals or Muslims when they want to demonize those groups to rile up the base.

They are going to say and do as much as they can get away with, then claim innocence or ignorance and then give a half ass apology.
