This summer, there is certainly no shortage of maxi dresses on the scene. What was originally meant for an easy, light-weight cover up for those sunny days at the beach has transitioned from super casual to instant glam.

While the most popular (and most comfortable) option is made of cotton, style stars such as Eva Marcille and Meagan Good have taken the simple ensemble and made it red-carpet ready.

A bit apprehensive about your arms or back being exposed? Throw a denim vest or blazer over for an instant dose of sleekness. Stepping out for cocktails with the girls? Add an over-sized belt, a statement necklace that hangs below the neckline, and big earrings.

If a more understated look works best for you, skip the jewels, add a cute pair of sandals or wedges, and you have the same, equally hot outfit.

Remember, the long, flowing silhouette of the maxi dress makes it perfect for every body shape, so add a hat, scarf, or your favorite pair of shoes and make it your own.

What’s your ideal way to style a maxi? Have you gotten into the trend?

+1 @ Nichole…it’s just something about the way it falls on her. I really like the print and the colors though. I think it’s something about the way it fits her up top.
