“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” – Proverbs 4:23

Whether you rock with the Good Book or not, it’s hard to deny that our friendships and relationships can make or break us. You get caught up with the wrong partner and your life goes awry or you can connect with an amazing group of friends and achieve everything on your bucket list, whatever the case may be, the people we allow into our heart can profoundly affect the course of our lives.

Think about it. I don’t know about you, but when I’m surrounded by creative, go-getters I am inspired to do the same. And if I happen to be near negative people who constantly harp on the horrible state of their lives, I walk away feeling drained and annoyed.

While we work toward our goals and aspirations, don’t forget to guard your heart, Clutchettes. Wasting time and energy on negative relationships—both friendly and romantic—can not only aggravate you and leave you in pain, but it can also knock you off the path to reach your goals.

We’ve got one chance at life, love wisely.

Happy Tuesday!

I love this! One of my favorite verses. Matthew 15:18 is good as well. My relationship is slowly dying and it was hurting me. Some of my friends are just so negative, but they have so many great things going on. I need to distance myself in order to remain positive and upbeat!
