There is no word on whether or not a 20-year-old who shot a Atlanta police officer in the face experienced an extreme case of police brutality.
Officer Reggie Robinson was dispatched to a southwest Atlanta neighborhood in response to possible drug activity last Friday night. After chasing down a man he believed to be suspicious, Robinson was shot in the face, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports.
Police say that the officer was taken to Grady memorial Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
What is even more eerie is the appearance of the gunman in his mug shot. Emmitt looks like he’d been through a rough throw down with the officers. However, police are staying mum on Emmitt’s apparent bruises:
“Police would not say how Nance sustained injuries evident in his mug shot taken Friday night. APD spokesman Gregory Lyon said the department’s internal review board will investigate all aspects of the shooting – as they do any time an officer is involved in a shooting – to ensure all policies and procedures were followed,” the Atlanta-Journal Constitution says.
Frank Emmitt was arrested after he shot the officer in the face and has been charged for aggravated assault against a police officer, possession of cocaine, and the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
