On top of Sunday being one of the most important sporting events of the year, someone had the audacity to try to kill off Muhammad Ali, with rumors that he was near death.
That someone unfortunately, was his brother Rahman Ali.
“It could be months, it could be days. I don’t know if he’ll last the summer. He’s in God’s hands.”
Rahman also spoke of the ill feelings he has towards his sister-in-law, Lonnie. ‘We’ve all been pushed out. The only time I get to see him is at public events. She and her family are draining him. It’s so sad. There’s nothing I can do, they’ve blocked us all off.’
If it’s not Twitter killing someone, it’s an estranged family member.
What was “The Greatest of All Time” doing while people were worried about his health? The same thing millions of other people were doing yesterday. Watching the Ravens beat up on some 49’ers.
USA Today spoke with his wife Lonnie, and she put all the rumors to rest. “All I can tell you is that Muhammad is rooting for the Ravens and Muhammad was completely (taken) with Beyoncé. His eyes and mouth were wide open, so he’s fine.”
When asked about the rumors regarding Rahman’s interview, Lonnie said the interview was done last year during the Olympics, and they’re pretty much used to the ‘near death’ news cycle every year about Muhammad. Even though Muhammad suffers from Parkinson’s disease, he still makes public appearances. Although he wasn’t at this year’s Super Bowl, he did attend last month’s Sugar Bowl. The family posted several photos of Muhammad decked out in his Ravens paraphernalia.
You can’t keep The Greatest Of All Time down!
