Her courageous battle and bone marrow transplant for a rare blood disorder has been a well documented and inspiring journey. Now, after five long months, Robin Roberts has returned to Good Morning America, opening with: “I have been waiting 174 days to say this: ‘Good Morning America.” Her immune system still in recovery, Robin and her GMA family had to hold back from all the hugs and high fives they wanted to share as Robin to her place once again in the anchor’s chair.
First order of business for Robin is interviewing the flyness that is FLOTUS Michelle Obama on February 26th. Both the FLOTUS and President Obama welcomed Robin back ahead of the interview with a video message in which the President says that he’s glad that she’s “back doing what [she] does best.”
Although her doctors aren’t 100% on board with her return to the working world, Robin is maintaining her upbeat spirit and couldn’t be happier to be back in the place where everyone knows her name:
“I keep pinching myself and I realize this is real. This is actually happening, and I don’t have my froggy slippers on, or do I? Faith, family and friends have brought me to this moment and I am so full of gratitude.”
So glad that Robin Roberts is back on my screen every day, she is truly an inspiration. Can’t wait to watch her interview with the FLOTUS!
Welcome back Robin!
