Magic Johnson’s new cable network, Aspire, has added a new talk show to its line-up. In a similar fashion to “The View”, “Exhale,” will be hosted by five African-American women in the entertainment space.
Weekly topics will include family, relationships, career, money and faith. Hosting the show will be journalist Angela Burt-Murray, actress and comedian Erin Jackson, Issa Rae, author Rene Syler and actress Malinda Williams.
“Exhale,” produced by Lynne Robinson and Black Robin Media, will be Aspire’s third original series. Show has begun lensing, and the eight-episode first run will bow in June to coincide with the net’s one-year anniversary.
“We are thrilled to add ‘Exhale’ to our lineup of original programming,” said the network’s General Manager Paul Butler. “This fresh, hip and candid new series will enlighten audiences with its broad range of topics relevant to the community.”
Aspire launched last June as a part of the deal struck between Comcast and NBCUniversal and targets African-American audiences.
