choco-chicken

In the words of Busta Rhymes, “Chickity-choco, the chocolate chicken”. Los Angeles is getting a new fried chicken restaurant this March and it’s putting a spin on the terms “finger licking good” and “milk chocolate melts in your mouth and not in your hands”.

ChocoChicken, the brainchild of Adam Fleischman and his company AdVantage Restaurant partners,  will serve a new style of fried chicken: a fried chicken and chocolate hybrid.

“Fried chicken is a classic American comfort food that has been largely overlooked in fast-casual restaurants,” says Adam Fleischman, founder of AdVantage Restaurant Partners. “ChocoChicken is completely different than anything else out there. This isn’t mole’, traditional fried chicken, or even chicken just dipped in chocolate. It is a whole new style of fried chicken that you just have to taste to believe. It’s got the ‘crack factor’ I look for in a great restaurant brand.”

The chicken won’t be covered in chocolate,  the chicken fry batter will actually contain chocolate. To go along with the chocolate chicken, the restaurant will also serve house-made biscuits, beer, wine and cocktails.

Let’s see how this scenario will work out.

There’s already a restaurant that makes red velvet fried chicken (I still can’t wrap my head around that concept), so not surprised.

    • yep. that red velvet chicken looks nasty too, but people love it. i’m thinking it’s the sweet and savory thick batter/crunchy combination with the chicken? the chocolate chicken thing “mole chicken” is popular in latin america, but i don’t think they don’t fry it. i wonder how it would taste fried… sounds nasty. sorry….

    • **typo** i don’t think they fry it.
