Over the weekend, Coachella gave fans a taste of style and hip-hop. The festival’s opening weekend had several A-List musicians and surprise cameos.
Beyonce made a surprise appearance toward the end of sister Solange’s set on Saturday. The crowd was already going wild, but totally lost it when the singing duo broke out in their synchronized dancing as Solange sung “Losing You,”.
Beyonce wasn’t the only one with a cameo appearance this weekend. Jay Z joined Nas’ set and performed “Dead Presidents II,” the song that many attribute to the start of the rappers’ discord. Jay Z then performed “Where I’m From,” from “In My Lifetime, Vol. 1.”
Puff Daddy also joined Nas during his 1999 collab “Hate Me Now.”
But the ultimate hip-hop show was definitely Outkast’s reunion, which was live-streamed online. Outside a few technical issues towards the end, the show was impeccable.
The rap duo headlined the first night of the music festival Friday in Indio, Calif., performing well-known hits such as “Hey Ya!,” ”Ms. Jackson,” ”The Way You Move,” ”Elevators (Me & You),” and “So Fresh, So Clean.”
