Screen Shot 2014-07-09 at 7.48.10 AMSinger Jason Derulo says he’s over BET.

In an interview during So You Think You Can Dance, Pacific Rim Video host Chris Trondsen asked Derulo if he felt “underappreciated” by BET since the network’s recent awards show recognized Chris Brown and August Alsina but…not him.

“Honestly, in that world, for sure, man. Hands down…When you see all these other shows, when you see the VMAs, when you see the AMAs, and you see what happens on those shows, for [BET] to still be behind, I don’t understand it,” Derulo says. “And I’m almost done with it…to be honest with you. I’m not going to continue to extend myself if they’re not going to extend back. I love BET…I grew up watching it. But I’ma do what I do, and I’m not going to change it for anybody.”

Well, to be honest, I can’t name a Jason Derulo song other than “Talk Dirty,” and that’s only because it’s the theme music for Lifetime’s Devious Maids. But is that really BET’s fault?

Clutchettes, do you think BET shunned Derulo?

He came back from the injury a year ago. It happened in January 2012 and he was at full recovery in January 2013. He’s had a several hits since then and just finished a world tour. He’s right to be upset. He’s not being supported by a station which should be supporting him. Nothing scary about it in my opinion.
