While Nicki Minaj is throwing subliminal jabs at a certain “fancy” Australian rapper, she’s dodging a series of attacks from Lil’ Kim. It seems Nicki set the new Mom off when she referred to herself as “The Queen of Rap” in Beyoncé “***Flawless Remix.” Though it was only released five days ago, Lil Kim has managed to put out two diss tracks targeting Nicki Minaj since.
In the first, Kim changed the “***Flawless Remix” cover art to feature herself with selfies of Beyoncé and spit: “Am I trippin’ or did this ho just say my name? Queen of Rap? F*** outta here. The Queen is back.”
Kim followed up with a track “Identity Theft” where the cover art shows an ID with an old picture of Nicki Minaj wearing a green wig and has all of Kim’s identifying information.
Some lyrics are: “You swagger jackers give the game a bad look/ Pop sh*t on Twitter and apologize on Facebook/And now they want to send me requests tellin’ me that I’m simply the best/I won’t stop ’til I see my enemies rest/They’ll probably get locked up for identity theft.”
Both tracks were deemed mediocre by the public, including several Twitter users who jumped on the trending topic #GiveUpLilKim.
Even Lil Kim fans are saying the rapper threatens to tarnish her legacy by not passing the torch gracefully. It’s true that everything from Nicki Minaj’s flow to her initial look was inspired by Lil Kim, but is that a reason to drag on this beef for years? What say you, Clutchettes? Should Kim give it up?
