It doesn’t matter what size you are, cellulite does not discriminate.Cellulite is the term given to fat deposits just below the skin that typically appear on the butt and thighs. Hormones, genetics, poor diet and age are said to be the broad causes of this nuisance. Microdermabrasion, the process where tiny aluminum oxide crystals (grains) are used to buff away dead skin, often pops up on Google as a possible solution. While this method has been proven to have a decent success rate and is all the rage among Hollywood actresses — it may not be within everyone’s budget. It may also not be the best solution for women of color as it does cause temporary bruising, and our skin takes a longer time to recover from exfoliation.

Here are five alternative ways to help reduce cellulite.

    Lunges and drinking LOTS of water really works! I can attest to the fact that I have seen the cellulite on my thighs reduce significantly in appearance. Also, since I removed meat from my diet and added more vegetables (for a strange reason I never really like fruits) I have notice a change in my skin and hair being more healthier as well.

    It’s stored sugar. Cut out sugar(switch to honey) and significantly lower carbohydrates – it will go away.

    Strength machines are the best “cure” for cellulite. Building muscle will lean out your legs, arms, etc. and smooth out the areas that have cellulite.
