For those of you who have reserved Thursday nights for all things ‘Scandal’, you may just fall off your sofas with this new exclusive. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Olivia Pope’s scheming mama will be back to torment her powerful daughter later this month.
Actress Khandi Alexander who plays Marie Wallace (aka Maya Pope) has already booked her return to the show in an episode titled “Where the Sun Don’t Shine” which will air on November 20. It is still too early to know exactly what her arrival will entail for the rest of the characters but it has been confirmed that Tony Goldwyn who portrays President Fitzgerald Grant will be directing the much-anticipated episode.
Alexander’s last appearance was in the explosive season three finale when it was revealed that her menacing character was responsible for killing Jerry Jr.
It will be interesting to see how the writers will utilize her in the weeks ahead. But we are also pretty sure that we will not be disappointed. ‘Scandal’ has consistently developed a huge following because of its ability to stun viewers with the jaw-dropping cliffhangers.
It is also gratifying to know that Alexander will be given another opportunity to sink her teeth into a role that she was tailor-made for. She literally commands every scene she is in and deserves to be back to wow us once again.
November is turning out to be a very good month indeed!
