Julia, a 18-year-old artist from São Paulo, Brazil has created an amazing series of drawings of popular Disney princesses recreated as other ethnicities.

In the Tumblr series, Elsa and Anna from “Frozen” are depicted as Black and Merida from “Brave” and Jane from “Tarzan” as Hispanic.

Check out our gallery to see the drawings from the series — and make sure to visit juliajm15.tumblr.com to see more of Julia’s artwork.

Wow. They look great. I love these race bending princesses. You’d think with how awesome they look, that that’d be enough to make more princesses of color, but I understand: they don’t want to upstage the White ones lol.

      Preach.

The princesses do look beautiful. It is important for black people (especially the youth) to witness themselves and to acknowledge their inner and outer beauty.
