Jacqueline Alexander has been arrested because she beat her son for acting “too feminine and too gay.” Police say that Alexander punched her son in the face and her neighbors were astonished to find out she abused her own child. Allegedly, Alexander’s son was lying in bed when she accused him of being “too feminine and gay”.

Authorities have not stated  Alexander’s son’s age.

“It’s shocking every time it happens, but it’s not new to us at the center,” said Will Batts, who runs the Memphis Gay and Lesbian Center. “We hear a lot of stories about people who are assaulted by family members. Young people who are kicked out of their houses when they come out to a parent.”

Alexander is charged with domestic assault and is in jail on a $1,000 bond. Her first court date is set for Thursday, Feb. 19.

This is certainly a sad, tragic story. There is no excuse for punching a child in an inappropriate fashion at all. The mother obviously has issues and she needs to be held accountable for her own actions. No child should experience abuse.

Agree with all you said. Off topic here, but I didn’t get to say farewell to you over at Newsone since we gotta have a Facebook act now to leave comments but I’ll still see you around Truth. So this isn’t really a farewell.

      You’re so Sweet Sister. :)

This will never be Farewell Sister. I will still look at Newsone from time to time. Yes, Newsone has decided to use a Facebook comment section. I will express my views on many sites as well. I always respect your great thinking on issues. Keep up the great work and keep on showing your views.

  • I don’t know this woman. However, my best bet is that her son’s academics and life skills are probably the last things that she probably concerns herself with. I suppose she would probably prefer her son to take on some of the “thuggish” attributes that she surely has demonstrated (if such attributes were aimed at her, it would probably be a different story). I surely hopes that he goes into the custody of someone else who has better sense. If she is seething now, she will probably be even nastier once posting bail. This just proves that once again that everyone shouldn’t have children.

You need therapy lady. And you need a good beating or two. Your job is to raise your son to the best of your ability…not beat the crap outta him.

But I hear black people say “How are we homophobic? We not stopping gays from getting married, that’s the white man”

    -_____________-

So logically lazy. Gay people are outcasted, physically assaulted, emotionally assaulted and even killed for just being gay. Or sometimes they’re hetero. Just have feminine behaviors. Majority of this is intraracial violence. Ask any gay or suspected gay black person who they receive the most homophobia from. And I have asked them, and listened to their stories. That’s why I know. The homophobia isn’t as bad here in America as in the West Indies though. My dad is Jamaican, and gay people are treated so disgustingly inhumane down there. People call the cops on gay people if they’re suspected to be up to something down there. Some even arrested. But homophobic pro-blacks seem to think it’s anti-black to call black people out on their homophobia. Because that’s “propaganda” and it’s ultimately the white man that’s up to this. But mind you they don’t say it’s anti-black for parents to assault their kids for being allegedly gay.

Actually the phrase is: “How are we MORE homophobic? We not stopping gays from getting married, that’s the white man”–which would be correct.

Whites try to beat the gay out of their kids too. A white pastor on youtube endorses this “beat the gay of ’em” tactic during a sermon. Google if you must.

No, the phrase is exactly what I said it was. I quote black people I’ve heard say that exact statement. Full blown denying black people execute homophobia because they aren’t the ones stopping gays from marriage. Never said whites weren’t homophobic. Look at Russia. But many black people rationalize their bigotry by bringing up white ppl. Majority of homophobia is intraracial so idk what bringing up white pastors and whatnot have to do with discussing black homophobia. White people and how they’re acting should not be some type of justification for violent homphobic domestic abuse of black youth. White people’s hateful violent bigotry should not be a model of what we see as acceptable and something worthy of emulation. We need to be better than that, and aim to be more humane to our fellow black people who are lgbtq.

“No, the phrase is exactly what I said it was. I quote black people I’ve heard say that exact statement. “–I guess that’s a matter of perspective and experience. The trope I’ve always heard is that blacks are more homophobic and comparison to whites. Your version is new to me.

“Majority of homophobia is intraracial so idk what bringing up white pastors and whatnot have to do with discussing black homophobia.”–I brought up the “white pastors and whatnot” since YOUR original statement touched on RACE itself. Since you interjected race, I was giving you a white comparison that is similar to what this women did here, to highlight that there’s no difference.

As far as the treatment of the LGBTQ community and their rights, I’m on the same page with you. My response to your comment was because, I didn’t understand why you brought up race (in a cynical way–we all know homophobia exist in all groups across the board) in this article, especially when it has nothing to do with it–That’s all.

I brought up that race because I literally just finished watching one of these smart dumb problack militants make a youtube video and say that exact thing. Then I find this article on clutchmag. It was one of the most wtf statements I’ve ever heard in my life. Mind u this is a guy who can say some really enlightening things.
