Bobbi Kristina Brown has been fighting for her life for the past five months, but things just took a sad turn. According to Brown’s aunt, Pat Houston, the 22-year-old was recently moved to hospice care.
“Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate. As of today, she has been moved into hospice care,” Houston said in a statement. “We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.
Bobbi Kristina has been hospitalized since she was found facedown and unconscious in the tub at her Atlanta home in January. Although details around what caused her demise have been sketchy, her family insists foul play is to blame.
“Whoever had a hand in causing my daughter’s injuries needs to be brought to justice,” Bobby Brown said last week. “Right now we are focused on Bobbi Kristina’s medical prognosis and the criminal investigation.”
Bobbi Kristina’s predicament is eerily similar to her mother’s 2012 death. Just days before the Grammy’s, Whitney Houston was discovered, unconscious, in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. A toxicology report later found several drugs in the singer’s system and her death was ruled an accident.
Last month, Cissy Houston, Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother, said the family is prepared for whatever comes next.
“She’s not gone yet, but you know, whatever the Lord decides, I’m ready for her…I have nothing to do with that,” Houston said. “That’s His job. It’s His territory, you know? And I understand it.”
