Navigating through high school is an enjoyable experience for some, while a trying time for others and one teen girl is now representing in extraordinary fashion for all who fell short of high school glory.

18-year-old Kyemah McEntyre designed this breathtaking prom dress from scratch and accessorized with a simplistic solid gold choker and matching headpiece. A welcome break from the growing trend of more revealing prom dresses this season, Kyemah went with a long-sleeved fit and flare style look that complimented her natural hair and beautiful skin perfectly. The amazingly detailed garment features tribal-themed prints with a red, yellow, blue, white and green color scheme along with a plunging, yet still tasteful neckline.

Kyemah says her designs are a response to the countless number of black women who face harsh criticism from the public by being labeled as “ugly” and angry. She hopes her positive attitude gives her fellow peers the confidence to realize that they are the exact opposite of hateful stereotypes. She went on to win the title of 2015 Prom Queen at her high school and judging from these pictures, as well as her fearless attitude, it’s a title that was well deserved.

(Sidenote: Are we the only ones who would LOVE to see Lupita rock this design sometime soon?!? Hopefully Kyemah’s talents caught her attention too!)
