Prima ballerina Misty Copeland is having the best summer ever. After being named the first Black principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, gracing the September cover ESSENCE, and landing a gig on Broadway, starring in “On the Town,” Monday, Copeland rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

It’s fitting Copeland visited Wall Street because her brief Broadway run has been a huge hit.

The dancer closed out her first week on the Great White Way on Sunday, and her presence paid off. According to the New York Times, “On the Town” grossed $914,434 last week, up from $395,379.

Looks like Misty’s got the golden touch.

She exemplifies talent, strength, and humbleness. Her actions and her story has inspired many ballerinas, especially black ballerinas, to fulfill their goals completely. Misty Copeland is shining her light and we wish all the best in the world.
