I don’t know about you, but I’m SO sick Silento’s unescapable hit, “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” I kinda want to travel back in time and snatch the mic out of his hand. The song is everywhere and in just about everything, and while I pretty much hate it at this point, Anthony Hamilton’s version is AWESOME.
Hamilton’s voice is made of home-cooked meals, the ancestors’ wishes, and hot water cornbread, and he pours it ALL into his soulful rendition of Silento’s ubiquitous hit, which everybody and their Big Mama is feeling too.
Anthony Hamilton might be the GOAT this sharecropper turned Whip-Nae Nae into a negro spiritual pic.twitter.com/xy9Nk9vnxZ
