It happens almost yearly, but yet another white fraternity is under fire after hosting an “urban-themed” party many students have deemed racist.

On Tuesday, members of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and Alpha Phi Sorority at UCLA threw a “Kanye Western” party that have many of the university’s Black students crying foul.

According to the Daily Bruin, the party asked folks to don baggy clothes or styles inspired by the Kardashians to celebrate all things Yeezy. Unfortunately,  some people crossed the line when they reportedly went all in, painting their faces with charcoal. When pictures from the party hit social media, some UCLA students were pissed.

To make matters worse, the party happened during UCLA’s “Black Bruin Welcome Week,” an annual event that tries to make the university’s small Black population feel at home.

One student,Hanan Worku, took to Facebook to vent her frustration.

“A frat decided it would be okay to have their members repeat a part of history that demoralized, mocked and dehumanized African Americans/ And celebrate while doing it,”Worku wrote. “They showed up with their chains and braids with stuffed butts for God knows what reason. True Bruin values amiright????!!!!! Not to mention all of this happened last night which happened to be a part of Black Bruin Welcome Week! Coincidence right??????”

Others flooded Twitter using the hashtag #BlackBruinsMatter.

UCLA’s African Student Union is holding a rally on campus Thursday afternoon to discuss the party and voice their concerns.

The university told one local news station the incident is under investigation.

“While we do not yet have all the facts, the alleged behavior is inconsistent with good judgment as well as our principles of community,” UCLA told KNBC.

Like I don’t get why people are surprised, this happens on regular basis it seems. Greek life is a load of things and it will never change if the majority of it are these white cavebeasts!

i love kanye west’s…………music, him as a person so unfortunate. he(include a whole bunch of other rich idiots) is making okay for these mayo-sapiens cave dwellers to continue this bad caricature of black people as a “joke”.

I don’t feel too bad about this.

Me neither. I get why the Black students here want to bring attention to racist tomfoolery on their campus. But I don’t get why any Black woman would feel compelled to defend Kanye West as per the second tweet shown above.

I wonder what would happen if Black students across the country started having cave dweller parties and sported whitened skin, blond wigs and dripping fangs while grunting and gyrating out of tune to country and western music. Only thing is we are not obsessed with them, as they are with us.
