We’ve been waiting and waiting, but it looks like Missy Elliot is really back.

Ever since she stole the spotlight during Katy Petty’s Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year, folks have been clamoring for new music from the woman who brought us so many hits. Well, fans have gotten their wish.

Missy teamed up with her Virginia homeboy, Pharrell, for “WTF (Where They From)” an upbeat, beat-driven joint that will get folks dancing.

The video is vintage Missy, with the rapper and a gaggle dancers clad in bevy of colorful outfits doing their things all through the clip.

Take a look.

Are you feeling Missy’s new song?

I’ve always loved Missy videos. They were always entertaining in a way that didn’t always use overt sexuality even if the lyrics were. I don’t know if she’s is the creative director behind her videos or whether or not she has input, but it was always a pleasure (and fresh air) to watch her videos.

This is a quintessential Missy Elliot video: hot track, hot dancers (hey Les Twins), crazy costumes, and some random weirdo ish (puppet Pharrell). I love it. It’s familiar, yet refreshing at the same time.

She is very creative. The video has great visuals. The people dancing are extremely talented and it has a vibe of people having fun. Also, I’m from VA. We greatly respect Missy and she’s from P-Town (or Portsmouth). Pharrel is from Virginia Beach. I have been to both Portsmouth and Virginia Beach before. So, it’s always great to witness a Sister from VA doing her thing. The music video is refreshing and filled with soul.

I played the video once. Then I played it 5 times in a row. Then I bought the song and listened to it once. Then I listened to it 7 times in a row. Thank you Miss Elliot!
