Even if you don’t have a Twitter account, you need to run to the social networking site and get a good ol’ dose of #MemeHistory.

The hilarious hashtag got started [email protected] saw a picture of a student presentation that included a meme and wondered if you could teach history using popular images.

Almost immediately, other Twitter users chimed in to use memes–or funny viral images–to illustrate historical events.

And soon, #MemeHistory was born.

Of course…Twitter went AWF in the most hilarious way, and no subject was off-limits.
