President Obama has been dreading one day for the past few years. While many politicians are consumed with poll numbers, elections, and pumping up their approval ratings, according to President Obama, there’s one thing that brings him to tears: seeing his daughters leave home.
Last year, the dedicated dad told a crowd that when his eldest daughter Malia graduated from high school he’d be “wearing dark glasses” and crying.
Friday, Malia crossed the stage at Sidwell Friends in Washington D.C., and according to attendees, the president was “just another dad.”
Unlike past presidents whose children have attended the prestigious school, Mr. Obama didn’t give the commencement address, and didn’t cause a fuss. Instead, when Malia’s name was called he simply stood and cheered her on.
It’s hard to believe Malia was just a little girl when her father first became president, and we’ve watched her, and her sister Sasha, grow to become beautiful young women right before our eyes.
Friday night, Malia, Sasha, and First Lady Michelle Obama reportedly attended Beyonce’s Formation tour in Baltimore to celebrate her eldest daughter’s big day.

Malia will be following in her parents’ footsteps and attending Harvard University, but not before taking a “gap year,” and working, or possibly traveling the world.
