When Beyoncé first dropped Lemonade, the first thing the Beyhive set out to do was find and expose ‘Becky with the good hair.” And for a while, they really thought they had it all figured out – accusing Jay Z’s rumored old flame of having a hand in trying to destroy the union that is Jayonce.
Rachel falsely implicated herself though, captioning a photo on Instagram minutes after the release with “Good hair, Don’t care.”
Months later, after the fires of speculation have submerged, Rachel Roy’s ex husband is coming to her defense, slamming Beyoncé for not speaking out to squash the outlandish reports about the fashion designer.
They are cowards,’ he told Grazia in a recent interview. ‘They should have stepped up and said something.’
Speaking at the launch of his own television network Damon Dash TV, the entrepreneur and music producer said he and Rachel’s daughters Tallulah and Ava have been harassed on social media as a result of the rumors surrounding their mother.
‘Adults can go and harass a kid on behalf of an R & B singer?’ he said. ‘The trolls should have been put in jail for that, it was crazy.’
However, Damon, who fell out with Jay-Z in 2004 following the sale of their record company Roc-A-Fella, was more cryptic when asked by the magazine about the rumors of a past romance between Rachel and Jay-Z.
‘I don’t care what Rachel did, I don’t agree with a lot of things she does,’ he said, mysteriously.
Not sure where all of this concern was back when the news was fresh but at least he’s showing support? What are your thoughts? Are his comments a little too late on arrival?
